What effect is used in dance/electronic music where a melody is played over and over again but it slowly gets louder and more treble is added to it and it builds up? Is it automation?

So I bought a RF T2D412 (subwoofer) and a RF T2500-1bdCP (amplifier) with orgionally planning to use 2 T2s but decided not to buy the second one right away at the end. How can I make it so that pushing 2500 RMS to a 1200 RMS subwoofer won’t blow it? Can I turn down max output of the amplifier?
