Learn Max for Live By Building an Arpeggiator: Video Tutorials by The Ableton Cookbook, More
Some of you are probably already sitting on top of a Max for Live license for your copy of Ableton Live. It’s there, just waiting to do … something. Maybe you’ve loaded one of the many extraordinary patches out there – good move. But as for building your own patches, you may easily have become overwhelmed by choice. Max is a blank slate, and a blank slate that can do everything can make it hard to start with anything. It’s easy to overlook simple first steps. Max was originally built just to do simple math on messages, before it even had audio capabilities. So that means simple message processing is a great place to start. The Ableton Cookbook’s Anthony Arroyo introduces Max for Live in just that fashion, by starting you out building an arpeggiator.

I got some money back from school so we are getting a few pieces of gear.I bought the third sub and the amplifier. 1 of 3 anyway. I also bought some plexi for a special project for the wall. Should be the illest thing ever. Not going to say more than that till it gets here. There will be two or three unboxing videos and the install of the sub, amp, and a demo so stay tuned.

Orphion Makes the iPad More Instrumental, Expressive; Watch it Meet Moogerfoogers
Design, and investigation in general, thrive on a challenge. So Bastus Trump, working with none other than Monolake co-founder and Ableton imagineer Robert Henke, took on the call to make the blank glass of an iPad behave more as an instrument might. The results, filling that screen with overlapping circles, are impressive, exploiting continuous touch movements to make pitch gestures that are more difficult on a piano-style keyboard.
